Long Hair? You Should Definitely Care

With or without tape in extensions, long hair always needs a little extra care. In this blog post, we will explain the best and most effective ways to keep your long hair healthy. These tips will also help you if you are trying to grow out your hair past a certain point.
Using the right brushes
Using the correct brushes can make all of the difference in the world. At easihair pro, we recommend using a boar bristle brush and a wet brush for detangling your hair and minimizing any breakage. We have developed the Premium Boar Detangling Brush and the Wet/Dry Detangling Brush. The right boar bristle brush will minimize any friction when brushing your long hair won’t create any knots. The wet/dry brush also does an amazing job at reducing any breakage and detangling because of the special bristles that bend around the tangles and reduce stress on the hair.
The correct way to use this brushes is to work from the bottom of your hair, going up. By brushing your long hair this way, you are not putting any pressure on the roots and causing damage. Take extra care when brushing your hair while wet because as it can stretch any healthy hair you have.
Use Heat Protectant
We’ve all heard this before but sometimes we forget this very important step. Using a heat protectant like, Heat Treat + Shine, can protect your hair and extensions from losing their luster and color. The way this works is the heat protectant forms over the hair shaft protecting it from heat and damage. Heat Protectant is also a great way to keep your long hair shiny and frizz free!
Hair Bands
Scrunchie lovers rejoice, it’s back! When you use hair bands that don’t pull on your root, like a scrunchie, you are preventing unnecessary stress on your hair. This will keep your long hair strong and healthy.
Drying
This may be a simple and easy trick but it does wonders! Instead of using a cotton towel to dry your hair, use an old t-shirt instead. This will keep your hair from fraying because of the softness of the t-shirt.
If you are using a heat tool to dry your hair, save it for special occasions. When drying your hair with a blow dryer, we recommend drying using low heat. The right way to use a blow dryer is on a low-heat setting and pointing the nozzle down.
Washing
If you read our article about washing your hair, then you know all about this topic. When you wash your hair too often, you strip the natural oils your hair produces. This will cause your long hair to become dry and damaged. By washing your hair the right way, you are promoting healthy and long-lasting hair growth.
